Once upon a time, the prince would call the princess on the phone, make a plan and take her on a date. If things went well, they would keep dating and live happily ever after. If things didn't go well, both of them avoided a few places and screened their calls. The End.
But now . . . oh now. It's very different. Now you can creep the internet and know a person before you've ever met. Not creepy at all.
Internet dating - what a gem. There are pages dedicated to super bad messages that are sent on the regular. Whilst funny, also incredibly discouraging for real people looking for other real people.
It seems that the art of modern dating is acting like you don't care, even if you do. It's about keeping options open and playing everything like a game. Then it's all guessing and running text responses through the group chats.
Then if it doesn't work out, occasionally you need to disappear off social media or go blocking and unfriending off everything. And STILL avoid the places you went out together. So much work.
It's not all bad . . . I think. What are your modern dating realities . . . the good, the bad, and the ugly?
