Pizza is life if you live at my house. It's one of my favourite things and for a long time I was super intimidated to make my own pizza dough. So I did as what every adult Bosnian women does, I called my mother for her go to recipe haha.
What you will need:
For dough:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon fresh yeast
- 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil + additional
- 1 cup warm water
For rest of the pizza:
- Chicken breast
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tbsp buffalo sauce
- 1 cup garlic Alfredo sauce
- 6 mushrooms sliced
- 1 1/2 cups cheese shredded
How to make it:
- Put yeast into 1/4 of warm water and stir.
- Combine flour, sugar and salt in a large bowl.
- Add olive oil and 3/4 warm water and yeast water mixture and use a wooden spoon to stir well very well.
- Add any additional flour as needed stirring until the dough is forming into a combined well. The dough will still be slightly sticky but still should be manageable with your hands.
- Allow dough to rise for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 425F (215C).
- Once the dough has risen, use your hands to gently deflate it and transfer to a lightly floured surface and knead briefly until smooth (about 3-5 times).
- Use either a rolling pin to work the dough into 12" circle.
- Drizzle additional olive oil (about a Tablespoon) over the top of the pizza and use your pastry brush to brush the entire surface of the pizza (including the crust) with olive oil.
- Use a fork to poke holes all over the center of the pizza to keep the dough from bubbling up in the oven.
- Cook chicken with seasoning to taste. Combine alfredo sauce and buffalo sauce, add desired toppings and bake in a 425F (215C) preheated oven for 13-15 minutes or until toppings are golden brown. Slice and serve.
